HAPPY MOTHER'S

There's a thing they say about a woman in your life. She is a blessing... And should you have a mother and a wife, then you are twice blessed!

15th March, 2015. The ritual was again observed as mothers had their names on the lips of theirs.. Every one to whom the Mother's Day celebration means a thing took to the various social media and gave their feminine parents the undiluted appreciated they deserved. Instagram, twitter, Facebook, BBM, Whatsapp....name it!  Timelines were inundated with pictures of mums and 'dads like mums'.

In Nigeria, people did not just stop at their biological women-parents. They extended their adulation to every woman in whatever form they appeared. Mother. Wife. Sister . Mother-in-law, female besties....Just any meritorious woman.

Our very own Nigerian celebrities were not left out. They graciously paraded the pictures of their mothers all around their social media accounts. Pictures won't lie, will they???

Look what they have to say............

Right up there...that's the proud single parent herself, Waje. She took Martin Luther King Jnr.'s foot impressions and gave her  mother a speech she obviously deserved. Her exact words would be:

"This woman has been my confidant, bank manager teaching me to make better financial choices, my teacher whose life has been an example to me, mentor extraordinaire, hard working but with a gentle spirit that makes u love her the min u see her. Spirit filled woman who has taught me faith and trust in God has its rewards. Happy Mother's Day to a woman that I will spoil silly, my bestie . I love you and honestly ask God for the strength to be like you and make sacrifices for my children as you did for us. Ha!!! U never see anything.# 2015 #spoilmummyyear".

Next in line? Omawonder!!!

Look what she has to say:

"Happy Mothers Day to All Mothers(biological, spiritual and those anticipating/praying) including my Hon. Chief Mrs Queen Aya Megbele JP!! My prayer warrior, my Paddy, Fellow gossip partner, Chief executioner, no nonsense mama cathedral. Live long and always stay fabulous!"

Next! Funke Akindele!

And she ll say:

"Happy mother's day to all our Mothers! The good Lord will grant all wonderful mothers long life and good health. #ilovemymum"

Next.... Ini Edo.

"Happy Mother's Day to my favorite person In de world.thank u for the brave woman that u are. I love u mum❤️"

And for the 'AfricanMother-in-laws Jokes' that recurringly go viral on social media, Omawunmi thinks that joke about her mother-in-law would not sell. She makes bold to flaunt the mother of her husband...her mother-in-law!!!

"Happy Mothers Day to my Mother In Law of Destiny Mrs Chio Yussuf... Mother extraordinaire, beautiful inside out. We love you plenty!"

Ali Baba doubles his 'idolatry':

"HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY TO MY WIFE AND MY MUM... Thank you for all the joy, love, sacrifices, hard work, understanding, provision, protection and above all prayers... You deserve all praises that come your way"

And to all those, like me, whose mothers are no more, you know the justifiable joy of not feeling consumed by the absence of mama?!?

Well, she gets to celebrate Mother's day in a place where there is no APC... no PDP...no Patience Jonathan!!!...no Boko Haram or Al Qaeda. Just a peaceful undisturbed celebration. With real angels. Not just the Westlife's kind of 'Angels without wings'. Real heavenly Angels!!!

To all them mothers gone, I say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!.

You'all are the real Fallen 'Heros'. The real MATYRS! The real SOLDIERS! You're the real MVPS!!!

Remain in that better place they told us about. Fight no more and, yes I have to go religious about this one, live in eternal peace!!!
